The whole job
A countertop job runs from the first site measurement to the paid invoice. iCounterSoft covers all six steps, and Standard at US$70 a month covers five of them. Scheduling is the one step that needs Professional, along with the accounting sync inside the last one.
Draw the run, the return and the island from your own site measurements, in millimetres or inches. The countertop drawing software needs no CAD training. On Professional you can import a CAD DXF instead: the app reads the file, finds the pieces, cut-outs, splashes and seams, shows them for review, and draws the ones you pick.
Area, linear metres, cut-outs and edge runs come off the shapes you drew, and your own price lists apply to them. Change a length and its price line changes with it. The countertop estimating and quoting software sends the quote from the same screen you drew on.
Place the cut pieces on the slab you are actually buying, and estimate how much of it the job uses while you are still drawing. Slab layout and vein matching also give the customer a picture of the veining they are paying for, before anyone cuts anything.
Book fabrication, delivery and install on a drag-and-drop calendar. The countertop scheduling software blocks a double-booked save, and warns you about short travel gaps, early starts and approved leave. Each assignee gets their day by email, with a Google Maps route link and a QR code. Customers confirm or move an appointment from that email without logging in.
The drawing, the quote and the job stay on the customer, so the next enquiry starts from what you sent them last time instead of from a search through your email. The countertop CRM is built in rather than bolted on.
An accepted quote becomes an order, then an invoice you can take payment against, without retyping any of it. Sending those invoices and payments through to QuickBooks Online or Xero is a Professional feature.
Who built it
The founder designed iCounterSoft from his own experience running a fabrication business. He uses that experience when deciding what to build and when helping customers.
“In my own shop, quoting went from over an hour to five minutes.”
The toolset
Steps one to three are where the product goes deepest. You draw from your own site measurements, your own rate card prices what you drew, and the quantities are read off the shapes instead of retyped into a spreadsheet. See how the countertop estimating and quoting software prices a job.
Draw countertop pieces with click-and-drag tools made for fabrication work.
Draw the job and let iCounterSoft build the estimate from prices you set.
Place pieces on the slab and line up the veins before you quote the job.
Takeoff
A countertop takeoff works out how much material, edge and cut-out work the job needs before you price it. iCounterSoft reads those quantities from the drawing.
